Thirty-two large format fabric posters of Roald Amundsen's South Pole Expedition in 1911-12 is currently on display in the Allen Library Lobby on the University of Washington campus. The exhibition consists of 32 large posters featuring photographs taken by the Amundsen expedition and used during his public lecture appearances, including a presentation to the Royal Geographic Society in London on November 15, 1912. Amundsen and his crew sailed from Norway on November 15, 1911 and arrived at the South Pole on December 14, 1911.
The exhibit is sponsored by the Fram Museum in Oslo and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C. Special thanks to the University of Washington Libraries for providing space for the exhibit. The exhibit may be viewed at any time and will remain on display until April 30.
