Mimi Nielsen Awarded Fellowship

Mimi Nielsen, UW graduate student and  teaching assistant for the Department of Scandinavian Studies, has been selected to receive The Graduate School Chester Fritz Fellowship for international study or research for the 2014-15 academic year. This presitigious award will enable Mimi to attend the University of Gothenburg in Gothenburg, Sweden as a guest scholar and student. She will join a group of six scholars who represent a European-wide network working to develop a database on the transnational reception of 19th-century women writers, with Ms. Nielsen's research focusing on the life and work of Swedish novelist Emilie Flygare-Carlén.
