In 2005, the ScanDesign Foundation by Inger and Jens Bruun, based in Seattle, Washington, established a study abroad fellowship program at the University of Washington. The program is designed to foster Danish-American relations by providing generous financial support to undergraduate and graduate students who have been accepted to study abroad in Denmark for a semester, a summer, or a full academic year through any of UW-Seattle's Danish study abroad exchange programs, at the University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen Business School, Aalborg University, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and the University of Aarhus, and the affliated study abroad program with the Danish Institute of Study Abroad (DIS). The program also supports Danish students attending UW-Seattle via one of these exchange agreements. Fellowships are intended to provide financial support to students from all academic fields of study.
The Scan|Design Fellowship program at UW was established in the Department of Scandinavian Studies and directed by Professor Stecher-Hansen from 2005-2011. The growing program is now directed by the College of Built Environments. Follow the links below to learn more.
