Any student at the University of Washington is welcome to take courses in the Department of Scandinavian Studies. We offer a wide range of courses for the student with an occasional interest as well as the student who wishes to major or minor in a Scandinavian topic. The Department offers courses leading to a B.A. degree in Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Scandinavian Area Studies, with an Honors program for eligible students. We also offer minors in Baltic Studies, Scandinavian Area Studies, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, or Swedish.
