Graduate Student Maxine Savage and Lecturer Lars Jenner moderated a literature discussion broadcast from the public gathering space of KEXP’s new home at the Seattle Center as part of Taste of Iceland on October 14. Introduced by KEXP Senior Director of Programming and host of the Afternoon Show, Kevin Cole, participants included acclaimed modern Icelandic author Guðmundur Andri Thorsson and Icelandic medieval scholars Örnólfur Thorsson and Gísli Sigurðsson, who focused on the Icelandic Sagas and Nordic Mythology. The event also featured a Rímur performance by modern Icelandic bands, Fufanu and JFDR. The entire happening was enthusiastically received by the live audience. The event was organized and supported by Seattle City of Literature and The Elliot Bay Book Company.
