Apply for an exciting opportunity for Norwegian majors at the University of Washington! We will also consider applications from Norwegian and Scandinavian Area Studies minors and students enrolled in NORW 203 or above during Spring Quarter.
This scholarship supports a short-term, “day in the life” internship experience at either the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C., or the Consulate General in San Francisco. Successful applicants will receive funding for roundtrip travel, and room and board for one week in June (San Francisco) or September (D.C.).
At the Embassy or Consulate, students will observe and take part in activities, shadowing an employee or intern from Norway and learning about some of the day-to-day realities of a diplomatic institution. The successful applicant should have research and professional interests related to current and international affairs, politics and society, technology, innovation, and Norwegian language and culture.
