This November, our very own Professor and Chair Andy Nestingen was bestowed a knighthood in the Order of the Lion of Finland, recognizing his leadership and accomplishments in promoting Finnish language and culture in Seattle and the United States. On November 21, Prof. Nestingen was awarded by Consul Stefan Lindström, on behalf of Finnish president Sauli Niinistö at a ceremony attended by his family, colleagues, community members, and Finnish dignitaries. Congratulations to Andy! We are immensely proud to have him as our department chair!
