On February 14, the chief curator Marianne Torp of the National Gallery of Denmark, lectured at the Simpson Center for Humanities on the art of Danh Vo, whose conceptualist artworks are currently exhibited at the Guggenheim (Feb. to May 2018).
Vo was born in Vietnam in 1975 and arrived in Denmark with his family as a child refugee in 1978. He studied at the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen and is currently considered one of Denmarkâs most important contemporary artists. The lecture and reception was co-sponsored by American Friends of Statens Museum for Kunst (The National Gallery of Denmark) and the Department of Scandinavian Studies.
