Karin Filipsson has been awarded the 2022 Marna Feldt Graduate Publication Award by the Association for the Advancement of Scandinavian Studies in Canada. Her paper, “Shadows and Silences in Göran Rosenberg’s Memoir: Jewish ‘Postmemory’ in the Swedish Welfare State,” will be published in an upcoming volume of the Scandinavian-Canadian Studies journal.
The motivation from the committee reads: "the essay offers a compassionate analysis underscoring the crucial role of cultural memory and the devastating intergenerational effects when individual and family memories and trauma conflict with accepted national recollections".
