In Spring quarter '22, the Norwegian Studies Program hosted a retreat for Norwegian language students and faculty at UW's Friday Harbor Laboratories in the San Juan Islands​. The Covid-19 Pandemic had put a stop to this event in the past few years, however, the fun continues as we are back in person!
The retreat offered students and faculty the chance to immerse themselves in the Norwegian language for a weekend by watching Norwegian movies and participating in activities such as the Scandinavian lawn game Kubb, all while getting to speak Norwegian.
Students and staff had the opportunity to get to know one another through various activities, like hiking Young Hill, walking on the scenic beaches of the San Juan Islands, visiting the local Saturday market, sharing delicious koldtbord together, and more!
