Department Professor and Chair Andrew Nestingen defends funding for the humanities in Seattle Times op-ed

In an article recently published in The Seattle Times, Professor Andrew Nestingen says that the National Endowment for the Arts and other federally sponsored arts and culture agencies are vital to building a more connected world. According to Nestingen, people trained in arts and humanities "know how to bridge divides between people" and "are better positioned to build strong communities."
