On February 20-22, 2020, Sean Eckard from Starship Technologies gave presentations about the new self-driving delivery robots developed by a team of engineers in Estonia. Co-founded in 2014 by the inventors of Skype, Starship's rapid international success offered a fascinating case study for Autonomous Robotics students in the School of Engineering, and twenty MBA students from the Foster School of Business preparing for next month's tour to Helsinki, Finland and Tallinn, Estonia. Eckard's personal experience on the team of engineers who built and tested the robot, and more recently in Starship's international headquarters in San Francisco, was an inspiring example for students from a local high school robotics club who came to hear his public evening lecture.
