Kristin Kuutma earned her PhD in the UW Department of Scandinavian Studies, and went on to an illustrious career. Tom DuBois (today at the University of Wisconsin, Madison) chaired, and I served as a member on her doctoral committee; her 2002 UW dissertation's title is, A Sámi Ethnography and a Seto Epic: Two Collaborative Representations in Their Historical Contexts, ProQuest Dissertations & Theses.
